How to set up Minimum and Maximum number of payments for auto-charge subscriptions?

Minimum Number of Payments

This functionality applies only to auto-charge subscriptions.

A checkbox labeled "Minimum number of payments" is added, along with an input field. In this field, you can set the required number of successful payments a customer must complete before they can cancel or pause their subscription.

Merchants can cancel or pause subscriptions at any time.
Customers can only cancel or pause after completing the required number of payments.

Failed Payment Flow

If a subscription is set to pause/cancel after reaching the maximum number of failed payment attempts, the logic remains unchanged. The minimum payment condition applies only to customers. This means:

Customers cannot pause or cancel their subscription through the customer portal until the required payments are made.
If the subscription is paused or canceled due to a failed payment flow, it follows the selected action (pause or cancel) regardless of the minimum payment condition.

Once the customer completes the required number of payments, they will have the option to pause or cancel their subscription.

Pay-Per-Delivery & Prepaid Subscriptions

The same logic applies to both Pay-Per-Delivery and Prepaid subscriptions. For Prepaid subscriptions:

Only actual order payments count towards the minimum payment requirement.
The number of deliveries within a billing cycle does not count — only the number of payment cycles matters.

Default Settings

By default, the Minimum number of payments is set to 1.
The first order counts towards the minimum payment requirement.

Maximum Number of Payments

This feature applies only to auto-charge subscriptions.

A checkbox labeled "Maximum number of payments" is added, along with an input field. In this field, you can set the total number of successful payments after which the subscription will be automatically canceled with no option to renew.

The subscription is canceled immediately after the last successful payment, not after the final delivery.
This is especially relevant for Prepaid subscriptions, as deliveries within the cycle will still occur even after cancellation.
Once the subscription is canceled, the customer will receive the "Subscription Cancelled" notification (if enabled under Settings > Notifications).

Pay-Per-Delivery & Prepaid Subscriptions

The same logic applies to both Pay-Per-Delivery and Prepaid subscriptions. For Prepaid subscriptions:

Only actual order payments count toward the maximum limit.
The number of deliveries within a billing cycle does not count—only the number of payment cycles matters.

Default Settings

By default, the Maximum number of payments is set to 1.
The first order counts toward the maximum payment limit.

Once the maximum number of payments is reached, the subscription will be automatically canceled.
